On Monday, January 17th, at 8 PM CC’s Acoustic Underground Showcase (CAUSE) starts off it's second year featuring a solo performance by Tea Leaf Green keyboardist Trevor Garrod. Jam music lover's are already familiar with Trevor, known as Professor T, and his "spine-tingling" keys. Of his voice, JEFF GRAY, of Nude as News, says: "...smooth and inviting ..., one that's effective softly telling a story but can just as easily slip into a bluesy desperation."
Los Angeles funk soul blues artist Kevin Sandbloom will be opening the show. Currently receiving airplay on KCRW and KPFK, Kevin's sound has been described as "Maktub meets Dave Matthews at Jack Johnson's house."
This month Mokai, our resident acoustic blues master, will once again be accompanied by Seth Ford Young on upright bass. In November, Mokai and Seth tore up the stage and really got the room grooving.
The event will benefit the East Timor ACTION Network to provide relief to children and other survivors of the tsunami in Aceh, Indonesia. http://www.etan.org/ Please make generous donations.
